Ron and Cindy Schaneman purchased this bed in November of 1984 and mounted it on a 1972 Ford F250.  When that truck was put to rest, it was mounted on a Dodge 2500 and eventually on this Chevy K2500 diesel.  It is still used when spraying needs to be done.  As you can see they have kept it in excellent condition and there are a few modifications present such as a spare tire carrier, driver’s side step, and some extra supports on the headache rack.  Overall, the Schaneman ranch has purchased seven HydraBeds from Lone Tree Ag with four still in use on their ranch.  HydraBeds are currently being used and serving three generations on this family ranch located West of Chugwater, WY.  While visiting with Peggy, Ron stated that Virgil didn’t have to do much selling on that first bed as he was tired of picking, stacking, and feeding round bales with a tractor.  Furthermore, they were getting REALLY tired of putting up “work nuggets” (aka little square bales) and were looking to move entirely to big round bales.
